Great News everyone!!! The Shiprock Flea Market is Open at the original location the junction area!!! They started cleaning yesterday from all the over grown weeds and people dumping their grease and restroom waste against the fence line!!! Shame on those people who miss used the area… Finally a safe area for vend. I just had to spend the word!!!!👍😆😆👍👍

I don’t remember if I ever posted on our latest situation on our life and business. I want to thank everyone in our community of Shiprock for supporting us all these past 20 years. We are grateful for all of your support and donations you’ve given us 🙏🏻🪶Also many thanks for Shiprock Chapter House for stepping in and helping us with all of our needs and assistance. Thank you expect Debra Yazzie🥰Thank you! NHA giving us a home to live and put our life together ❤️All of our nearest friends Cindy Franks and Virginia Kirk for coming to our needs on going forward in our business and assisting with paperwork and for being here like family when we had no where else to go ❤️🙏🏻🪶🐑Thank you everyone again! The Tohono O'odham Nation's ancestral land didn't always have a line running through the middle of it. 🌵

When the U.S.-Mexico border was drawn in the 1850s following the Gadsden Purchase, it split Tohono O'odham territory in two, separating families, ceremonial sites, and traditional lands between what became two countries. For generations, tribal members crossed freely to visit relatives, gather materials, and access sacred places on both sides. Modern border enforcement, including sections of wall built through the reservation, has made that movement increasingly difficult, and in some places, impossible.

Today, the Tohono O'odham Nation continues to advocate for tribal members' rights to move across their own ancestral land, even as it now sits divided by an international boundary they never agreed to. 🕊️
