One of our favorite aspects of our business is never knowing who is going to walk through our doors! Yesterday we had this very special lady visit our store! As many of you know, especially those of you who have toured our facility, our original basket patterns were designed by Monroe Dutcher, who was formerly a design engineer for General Motors. This is his daughter, Karen! We have always wanted to meet someone from the family, but until yesterday, that didn’t happen.

We felt very honored to have her visit us and show her support for our work. One of our biggest takeaways from talking with her was the fact that she said her father always wanted to see other people continue his work in building these baskets. Without realizing it, we’ve been carrying out his goal with our basket classes. We just wish he could see it! Judging from the family’s reaction, we’re sure he was a remarkable individual.

We’re excited for this new relationship! We hope to meet more of the family!

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
