Chicken thighs anyone? Come by the Conway, Arkansas Farmer's Market this Saturday and see us. We will have chicken thighs on sale $1.00 off per pound! We will also have boneless skinless breast, wings, leg-quarters, and drumsticks. Also 1” thick bone-in pork chops, smoked bacon, ground pork, and pork breakfast sausage(mild and bold).

This week’s Conway, Arkansas Farmer's Market Vendors of the Week are Sean and Laurie Smith, who run Twisted Maple Farm, selling pasture-raised chicken and pork.

How long have you been selling at the market?
“We have been members of the market selling meat for three years.”

What’s your favorite animal to raise?
“We enjoy raising pigs the most.”

How did you get started?
“We got started raising chickens due to my 2-year-old daughter dying for chicks at Tractor Supply, and all they had were Cornish cross broiler chicks. We started producing pasture raised livestock to feed our own family, and others, a great, no-nonsense, ‘just real meat’ protein.”

What’s the best part of doing what you do?
“The best part of raising chickens and pigs, is the wonderful meals that come from them.”

What advice would you give anyone who wants to try doing what you do?
“Best advice I can give is to enjoy what you do and have a great spouse to pick up your slack.”
