This program is such a wonderful asset to the community seniors and farmers. Weβre so appreciative of the funding and opportunity it provides π
As the 2026 Market season is about to begin for the London-Laurel County Farmers Market, we feel it is important to recognize those who support us.
The Laurel County Fiscal Court is continuing their funding of the 2026 FRESH (Seniors Eating Farm Fresh) Program in the amount of $6,000.
This funding will provide vouchers for 120 Laurel County seniors to receive $50 in free vouchers to be used at the London-Laurel County Farmers Market during the 2026 Market season. All seniors must be Laurel County residents, be 60 years or older and meet the income guidelines. (For more information on if you or a senior you know will qualify, you can contact the Laurel County Extension Office.) The redemption rate for these vouchers is close to 100% every year, making this program incredibly beneficial to the market vendors and to our seniors. A win for everyone and a great use of our tax dollars!
When you have the opportunity, thank these members of the Fiscal Court. I know we will!
