Storing Fruits and Veggies

Have you ever had to throw out fruits or veggies because they went bad due to how you stored them? I'm guilty, I didn't know not to store onions and potatoes together until about 7-8 years ago. I also didn't know about storing uncut cucumbers in a cool, dry place as you do onions and potatoes until last Spring when a local farmer told me.

I never used to be a person that referred to charts for anything but the past year and with the price of food, charts have become my friend in helping me make the most of and do the most with what I have. When it comes to storing fresh veggies, I try to think back to what Papa would have in bushel baskets in the carport. They never made it into the house to go in the fridge. But many did make it into the root cellar, and I try to remember what all went there too. With my foggy brain at times, I don't know where to put something or how to store it, so charts come in handy. It is my hope that this one will help you too.

I'm posting this a little early today, Zaylee's getting the first phase of her braces on this afternoon so, fingers crossed, this goes well for her.
