Been there and done that now. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

So, thought it might be a good idea to introduce ourselves and let everyone know how this all came about.
Lets start with introductions. My name is Art Wedge and My wife is Tara. We are the proud owners of Plum Creek Farm. Nice to meet you and we certainly hope to see you here someday soon.
I used to be self employed for almost 30 years and Tara has been in retail management for almost as long. An unfortunate chain of events took place about 9 years ago that caused me to go to work for someone else. Have not been happy since. Then again itβs hard to have a boss when you went without one for so long. About 7 years ago we were living in Wisconsin and had the opportunity to move to Ohio. Seen it as a chance to start fresh and jumped on it. I went to work in Telecommunications and Tara got a job at Lowes.
We have always had a garden and always told it was way to large for the size of our family. I have always been interested in growing organic food and could never understand why it cost so much more then regular produce. The research began. Taking every online course I could find and reading every book I could get my hands on, I not only got a better idea about how much better growing organic was, but also how normal farming practices were bad for the soil.
Like anything else I do, I jump in with both feet. I had intentions of getting organized and was hoping to be open for business this Summer 2020. Due to COVID-19 I got laid off from work a month ago and kind of seen it as a sign. No time like the present to get started. Think we may have bitten off more than we can chew.
We decided to open in spring instead, with very little time to get ready. Now it is super crazy trying to get plants grown and potted for sale and grow more plants that will go in our field for produce sales. Trust me when I say we are starting small. In fact if you buy from some of the larger farms, this place may seem like a joke to many. None the less we are here working hard to to make a go of it on our own.
