Time for a post about our own kiddos. Our state fair success kind of got overshadowed because it was a quick 1 day trip due to our county fair overlap. Nope, no trophies or even class winners, but for our first time ever showing at The Ohio State Fair, with all bred and owned females, we are elated!

Isaiah was 2nd in class behind the Reserve Champion Duroc Gilt which ended up 3rd Overall Breeding Gilt! Close and almost to say the least!!!

Lydia also went 2nd in class with her Duroc in a seesaw of a class of December aged gilts. She drove her to a great finish!

Isaiah went 3rd in his class of Hampshire gilts behind the 4th and 5th overall Hampshire females. She is a powerhouse of a gilt that we knew was kind of a first or 3rd kind of female. We see her exactly like the judge saw her, ‘moderate in her proportions, with some extreme pieces that could be really fun to breed with’.

A big thanks to Jamie Payton for helping feed these gilts to reach their potential!

As the dust settles it is time for some updates and overdue Congratulations! Monday night of the open show at the Shelby County Fair was a hit and continued the success! A big thanks to all the families who trust in our breeding program and allowing us to help them achieve their goals.

Very glad we had the opportunity to slip down to Clinton County for their open show this evening. Worked out well to help a few families out and a last minute decision to let the kids go show a couple of cross gilts in the meantime. A very very special thank you to Jaworski Show Pigs for making this gilt available on their online sale this spring. Lydia taking home the big banner with Champion Gilt and Champion Overall of the market show while Isaiah won his class with a bred and owned made for a very fun evening!
