Super Habanero Pepper

Genetics from the Chili Pepper Institute, grown right here in the Pepper Pit. This is a really large habanero pod. It's got some heat to it, nothing insane, with a great fruity flavor right behind it. I genuinely like this one.

Have you ever grown the Super Habanero? 🌶️

Red Congo Pepper

This is the Red Congo, grown right here in the Pepper Pit. An extra-large habanero type out of Trinidad, bigger and more ribbed than your average red hab. It's got a great flavor and a little heat, and they're pretty balanced.

Have you ever grown a Congo pepper? 🌶️

I've heard one pod can heat seven pots of stew.

Fresh off the plant here in the Pepper Pit. Deep chocolate skin, rough and wrinkled all over, and that dark color is what a superhot looks like when it means business.

Would you take a bite of this one, or pass? 🌶️

Looks like a Scotch Bonnet, right? It's not.

This is a Jamaican Mushroom pepper, grown right here in the Pepper Pit. Same squat, wrinkled shape. Same bright red. That's where the resemblance ends.

Heat? A slight kick up front that dies down quick.
Flavor? Not much to talk about.

If you're growing for fire or for that fruity bonnet flavor, this one ain't it. All looks, not much behind them.

Have you ever grown a pepper that looked better than it tasted? Tell me in the comments 🌶️

Pulled this one off the plant today. Texture's doing something I haven't seen before.

Heat monster or all bark, no bite? Drop your guess.

🌶️ THE SUNRISE SCORPION IS SHOWING OFF

These Sunrise Scorpions finally hit that deep, fiery red, and that gnarly shape tells you everything you need to know. Cut one open and it looks every bit as serious on the inside as it does on the outside. 🔥🌶️

This is exactly why I love growing peppers—you never get tired of seeing pods like these come off the plant.

Would you eat one whole, or are you cutting this one up first? 👇 Follow The Pepper Pit for more from this year’s pepper harvest.

🌶️ JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A BUST…

Pepper plants have a funny way of humbling you. 😂 One minute you’re questioning why you even gave it greenhouse space, and the next you’re wondering where all those pods came from.

I know I’m not the only one who had a plant pull a comeback this season.

Name the pepper that surprised you this year 👇 Follow The Pepper Pit and share this with another pepper grower.
