Facts about water wells:
1. Never pour bleach in a well. Chances are all you will accomplish is oxidizing all of the iron and making your water worse. If you are doing it to kill bacteria, that is just a temporary solution. Not only does it not kill all bacteria types, after shocking it with bleach, the bacteria are likely to come back even stronger. It is never a good idea to dump any chemicals underground into our water aquifers.
2. Cleaning out a well will do nothing to improve the quality of the water. The only time a well needs cleaned is if it has collapsed or if the pumps pocket is full of sediment and drawing sand /sediment.
3. The best and only way to treat bad water is with proper filtration. A custom built professional filtration system is the only way to go.
