Blind Smoke BBQ began competing in competition BBQ in August of 2012, with myself, my wife Brandy Freeland and my baby sister Patience Freeland. We have within the last year added by sisters fiancé Charles Nelson, and a good buddy of ours, Travis Miller. Our first competition was Ultimate Flooring Wing war cook off at King of the River in August of 2012, where we proudly took 1st place and 4th pla
ce. We competed 2 weeks later at the Oran Cooking for the Cause Wing war competition in September of 2012 with a 1st place finish. We finished 2nd in the Ultimate Flooring Wing war competition, and Overall Grand Champion of the King of the River cook off. In October of 2013 we proudly took 2nd in chicken and 2nd in ribs at the Perryville Make a wish Cook off. Our first cook off of 2014 was in May at the Sikeston American Legion cook off. Were we finished 1st and 2nd in the Wing war competition, and 2nd in chicken and 2nd in ribs. In September of 2014 we competed in the Oran Cooking for the Cause BBQ cook off and brought home a 1st place in Brisket. Also in September of 2014 we competed at the King of the River cook off, where our team finished 1st in chicken, 1st in pork and Overall Grand Champion. Our next competition was held in October of 2014 at the Perryville Make a Wish Cook Off, where we finished 2nd in chicken. In May of 2015, we competed in the Sikeston American Legion BBQ cook off and finished 2nd in Wing War competition, 1st in Chicken, 4th in pork steak. In September of 2015 we competed at the King of the River cook off and finished 1st in Chicken, 3rd in Pork Steak. Also in September of 2015 we competed in the Oran Cooking for the Cause and finished 4th in Pork, 6th in Brisket and 2nd and 3rd in Wing War competition.
