Hey guys!! If we get what they are anticipating, we will not be open Saturday! I will make another post closer to time, when I make a final decision. So, while you are out getting milk, eggs, and bread, don’t forget to stop by and stock up on teas also!! Don’t get stuck inside without them!! I pray everyone stays safe and warm!
Well folks, our winter storm is still on track to hit the Heartland this weekend. Still a few questions as to timing and exact amounts. What you are seeing is the strongest snow signal for us in years. This is the ensemble probability for seeing 4” or more of snow at a 10:1 ratio. Most of the area is above 50% with the central counties over 80%. And our snow ratio looks to be closer to 15:1 which would produce 6” or more inches across much of the area. The main question we still have is the cloud level temperature. Models are bringing a warm nose of air off the surface that if it happens, would mix or change snow to sleet, especially in our southern counties. This would cut the snow accumulations in half but still produce very bad travel as surface tempers will be in the teens. We will continue to update and should a better idea and the sleet possibility tomorrow.
