I'm sharing part of our origin story on the blog this week, so here's some throwback pictures of our early years on the farm.
One part of our origin story began on the night when I decided impulsively to eat meat again - after being vegetarian for eight years.
I needed to eat meat for my health. But if I was eating meat, how could I still uphold the values I'd had for several years? How could I support animals being treated humanely, and agriculture nourishing and supporting land and waterways rather than harming them?
Answering these questions led to us building our first mobile chicken shelter and raising 50 meat birds. And from there it grew, and grew. We now raise 3,000 meat chickens a year, and deliver them to the doors of our neighbors and friends.
