At Last Farm

At Last Farm I am Gary Bullen and I grew up on a farm in KY. This year we will grow vegetables, and will add berries in the future. Welcome to At Last Farm!

I spent my career consulting other farmers and at last, along with my wife Carolyn, have settled near Siler City, NC. My name is Gary Bullen and I grew up on a farm in eastern Kentucky, one of several generations of farmers. I was raised participating in all aspects of the farm, and sold my own first field of cucumbers at age 12. I left the farm in pursuit of travel, education, and new experiences

, but always held in the back of my mind I would farm again one day. I spent my career through the Extension Service and NCSU consulting other new farmers on creating business plans, and setting up their own successful operations, always a little jealous of their farming ventures, and continuing to plan my own. I, at last, along with my wife Carolyn, have settled on 10 acres outside of Siler City, NC, and have the opportunity to farm again. After years of talking and planning about farming, it is exciting to be able to work the fields, start the plants, and see them grow myself. Our aim is to grow high quality produce, using OMRI approved materials, to ensure the health of the land and soil for future generations. We are beginning this year with vegetables, and will have blackberries and blueberries producing in the next two years. We are thrilled to be on this adventure and look forward to years of growing in the future!
