Twin Acres Farm

We are taking sign ups for our 2025 herd shares!

With standard goats in the milk line this year I anticipate having PLENTY of milk shares. We have had a couple of people reach out with interest in the last month so I wanted to go ahead and post.

I would love to have all the spots claimed before we start kidding season!

If you aren’t aware of the many benefits of goats milk let me share! Goats milk does NOT taste “goaty” if handled correctly (which ours is!). Goats milk is naturally “A2” like the expensive Jersey milk. So it is easier to digest. Many people who have issues with cow milk find they have no issues with goats milk! It has smaller flat globules and less lactose than cows milk. It also has high calcium content, selenium, MCTs, and capric and lauric acids. All of which improve heart, immune, skin, bone and circulatory system health. Plus it’s delicious! 😋

Message me for more information about herd shares!

Took our Livestock Guardian Dogs to the vet today for their routine shots, rabies, and exam. Their heart worm tests came back negative and their fecals were clear! Clean bill of health! Molly is set to be spayed on October 3rd! We love our LGD's and thank them for keeping our herd of almost 40 goats, 8 pigs, 50ish chickens, and 10 rabbits safe and sound. Teddy and Molly... you are a blessing to our farm and we are thankful for you! 🤍🤍🐾🐾

Did you know that August is National Goat Cheese Month? It’s a whole month dedicated to celebrating the creamy, tangy goodness of goat cheese! Whether you're a long-time fan or just curious to explore, this is the perfect time to dive into the world of goat cheese and discover all the amazing varieties available.

Goat cheese has become a favorite for many, not just for its unique flavors but also for its versatility in the kitchen. From spreading fresh chèvre on your morning toast to crumbling aged goat cheese over a salad or pairing it with your favorite w**e, the possibilities are endless. And let's not forget the potential health benefits—goat cheese is known for being easier to digest for some people compared to cow's milk cheese.

This month, take a moment to support your local goat cheese producers. Many small farms and artisanal makers put a lot of love and care into crafting these delicious cheeses, and National Goat Cheese Month is the perfect opportunity to show them some love! Check out local farmers' markets, cheese shops, or even plan a visit to a nearby goat farm. You might even find some special tastings, pairings, and events happening throughout the month.

So, whether you’re adding it to your favorite dishes, trying a new variety, or simply enjoying it on its own, let’s raise a toast to the incredible world of goat cheese!

Share your favorite goat cheese recipes, pairings, or experiences in the comments below. Let's celebrate the joy of goat cheese together!
