Here’s a little talk on copper and minerals, featuring my lovely doe Galina, before and after her copper bolus. I also show a side by side comparison of 2 minerals, and which is my favorite!

Is your goat’s fur becoming sparse, coarse, and altogether balding in places? The first thing that comes to mind for me is copper. Goats require copper to ke...

Hey friends! The cat is out of the bag, we’ve kept a secret for a few months, WE STARTED A YOUTUBE CHANNEL!
We’ve been homesteading for 14 years but only started recording and releasing snippets of our busy life for the past 7 years on FB. Starting last year I intentionally recorded more, expanding on gardening and animal management, but the farm page Perkins Pastures Nigerian Dwarf Goats was mainly meant for the goat fans and friends. The goats in fact, are only a portion of what all we aim to do, so this channel with provide a platform where we can share more on homesteading and the subcategories that come with it. You can look forward to topics such as, gardening, culinary and medicinal herbs and processing, canning, dehydrating, animal health management, and prepping. I hope we can expand here and be a part of a great little community that seeks a lifestyle close to the earth. Please check us out, subscribe, like, and comment! God bless!

Here she is, in all her glory! I’m thrilled to introduce…
Old Mountain Farm Mini Skinny!
If you’re familiar at all with Old Mountain Farm does, you can probably guess that her dam is 3*M AR Skinny Chic VEEE91, to whom she bears a clone like resemblance. Her sire is Old Mountain Farm Teff and he passed her his polled gene, so we are hoping to disbud a few less kids in the future.
I cannot thank Cheryle Moore-Smith at Old Mountain Farm enough for allowing us to bring her legacy of quality caprines into our herd!

Full pedigree:

Sire’s sire: Old Mountain Farm Got Milk?
Sire’s dam: 1*M Old Mountain Farm Quinoa VEEE90

Dam’s sire: SG++*B Old Mountain Farm Stag
Dam’s dam: 2*M Old Mountain Farm Win-Zip 2*D AR2306

Pictures of dam, sire’s dam, and sire’s littermate sister are courtesy of Cheryle Moore-Smith/Old Mountain Farm
