I’m having a homesteading weekend. For brunch we started with sourdough discard waffles and sourdough discard chicken strips. Then I went out to the garden that I’ve ignored for the week and it went crazy. This is the 3rd bucket of eggplant from 2 plants.

Sept 30. Have very sad sad news from the vet. We took one of our dogs for a check up. Muscles has been losing weight and looking very skinny, and has gotten a large pot belly. She sleeps constantly and just seems like she isn’t healthy. We were concerned so had her checked out. We know she is old, probably 13 or 14 years old. The vet determined that she has tumors in her belly. I guess it is a common thing that pitty breeds of dogs get. So we don’t know how long we have left with her, she is not going to get better. Just going to try and keep her comfortable until it is time. - Tom.

I finally made Baba Ghanoush with the eggplant in the garden! I think it’s just a vehicle for pita bread. We only had one plant of Japanese eggplant and one plant of white eggplant ant it grew so much!

It’s crazy to say, I need a bell pepper and then walk out to your garden and grab a perfect one. It’s also crazy to pickle jalapenos from your garden!!
