It's been a LONG time since we've posted anything but I thought I'd share a quick tip. We're putting in garden beds. We got a delivery of bulk soil. Our tractor is currently inoperable. A wheelbarrow was taking forever. So with that if you need to move dirt and need a reason to use that bucket with the cracked bottom you've refused to throw away as well as all of those feed bags..... here you go. I'm using a hand scoop to shovel the soil in..... load bags into back of car or truck and off ya go. As someone who has issues being able to shovel into a truck this worked beautifully.

I thought it about time to make this post. Manchester and Gigi with their newest litter and Elvis as well made it to their new home the end of February. We will miss them dearly but it was so nice to see them in a nice green place. ❤

Proven Breeding Pair!
Located in Silver Springs, NV

Are you looking for growth and meat production? Meet Elvis (Mahia Love x Rebecca Gina) born 8/10/2019 and Supernova (Tapeka x Mahia Love) born 5/8/2018.

These 2 would make an excellent addition to anyone's herd. AKPR 14555 BWH Mahia Love 2 "Elvis" is out of AKPR 2333 USA Mahia Love 93+ "Manchester" and AKPR 4719 EIF Rebecca Gina 2+ "Gigi". AKPR 12089 QCF Tapeka 1 "Supernova" came to us earlier this year and astounded us with her maternal instincts. Her piglets grew fast and large despite the small stature of the sire she was bred to before coming to us. Supernova is also dual registered with AKKPS. Elvis can easily be dual registered with AKKPS.

Transport may be possible within 12 hour drive of Silver Springs, NV. Otherwise you'll need to have you're own plan. If crossing state lines vet certification will be required.

Just a public service announcement.

When purchasing any animal across state lines vet certification fees should always be expected even if you provide your own transportation.

I just canceled a sale because buyer refused to pay this legal requirement.

Edit to add if anyone wants a resource for looking up requirements state by state here's a good website for that. https://www.interstatelivestock.com/

You can also call the receiving state's Department of Agriculture to make sure the information is up to date.

AKKPS 18348 / AKPR 12089 QCF Tapeka 1 "Supernova" aka Nova for short may not be the prettiest sow in the pen but she is a must have if you're looking for meat production and maternal instincts. She quickly became our second all time favorite sow once she farrowed. Gigi of course is our first. She is dual registered.

We've seen very nice growth from her piglets, good feed conversion, and she happily will take on piglets from another sow. She's got a good even temperment, though is very protective and attentive with her young. We experienced zero losses with her litter in a non-farrowing pen as we didn't know if she was due yet.

Tapeka / Mahia Love
DOB 5/8/2018
Non-wattled

Please send us a message if you'd like to see if she's a good fit for you!

We're at the point of downsizing chickens! We have 43 x 1 year old laying hens up for consideration! Please see list below. Currently with 68 hens we average 40 - 50 eggs per day. These girls are some good layers even with the heat and smoke. At peak laying we got 60+ a day.

They all look really rough either from rooster damage or moulting or pecking. We tried treating with Elector PSP incase of mites with no improvement.

All were obtained as chicks from either Cackle Hatchery or Murray McMurray Hatchery. All were vaccinated for Marek's.

Here's the list! If we're off by 1 or 2 of a specific breed I'll apologize now we don't do daily head counts and they do free range. If you aren't sure of the breed characteristics please by all means ask and I'll let you know or point you to the correct hatchery web page. All these breeds were selected for good laying as well as heat and cold tolerance.

Black Laced Gold Wyandotte - 4
Light Brahma - 1
Dark Brahma - 4
Speckled Sussex - 3
Welsummer - 13
Amber Star - 3
Red Star - 6
Rose Comb Brown Leghorn - 9

(Obviously pictures below are only to show their feather damage that's definitely NOT what they all look like)
