Just realized it's New Years. Holidays don't really register much in the middle of nowhere. A remarkably mild monsoon season so far has created many gorgeous sunsets behind the ocean and river mouth, and sunrises behind the mountains (I don't even try to photograph them). Summertime here is incredible, but conditions are usually too dry and clear to provide much of a show at dawn and dusk. I'm so glad I live where I do (and I'm glad we're not having a winter like the last one!). Now time for south winds to blow and let the constant clouds, fog, and storms set in, hiding the sun but providing life to our cranberry crop through the dry summer months ahead.
