I just wanted to see if I could do it…. 3 years ago I purchased chicks from 2 hatcheries and a feed store. I grew them up, chose the best ones 😳 and let them reproduce. Rinse & repeat for 3 years without adding any breeder blood. It wasn’t easy and the offspring weren’t always better than their parents. It took a lot of ‘weeding through’. And here is the result. I’m done with that lol He’s a genetic mess, but man is he pretty! And guess what? NOW I’m going to breed him with some buff hens I hatched from eggs I got from a well known master breeder *gasp* Quick! someone call the silkie police! 👮🐓
