“Corn farmers should be outraged that Congress would not take this across the finish line. All of the industries impacted by this initiative presented Congress with a workable solution for a farmer priority that has encompassed more than a decade of work. For farmers the issue is clear - without a meaningful boost to the markets, the 2026 crop will be our third or fourth year in a row of negative margins. Congress passing regulatory reform to allow E-15 to be sold year-round is well-demonstrated as the low hanging fruit to provide immediate corn demand. The positive impact that E-15 would have on farm income was well demonstrated to Congress and we presented a pathway for Congress to deliver this. To think that we’re facing another season with little likelihood for profitability, when we had a real chance to make this happen, is totally unacceptable.

Our champions on the Hill made a valiant effort. The grassroots push from the farm fields was nothing short of magnificent. But, I can’t express what a blow this is to farmers everywhere. We know of the pain in farm country, we are doing everything we can. We are extremely unhappy with this outcome, and with this task force they’ve come up with,” Josh Lancaster, KY Corn Growers Association President, said.

After weeks of negotiations, it appears that the House funding bill expected to advance today will exclude language that would have allowed nationwide, year-round access to E15, a lower-cost gasoline blend containing 15 percent American-made ethanol. In place of the year-round E15 provision, Congres...

Farmers want to sell their product in a marketplace for a fair price. But barriers to markets for their corn are standing in the way of that. Farmers are ready for a comeback – they just need the right policies in place.

Congress can by unlocking , nationwide sales of . As Congress continues to debate must-pass bills this year, NCGA is calling on elected representatives to support the inclusion of legislation that grants year-round, nationwide access to E15. Visit: http://ncga.com/e15-now.

There’s a tough financial reality facing many farmers today. Corn farmers are expected to lose money again in 2025, the third consecutive year of negative returns. The outlook for 2026 is worse, as it is expected to be the fourth consecutive year of negative returns across the countryside. Why? Th...

This program has touched many farm operations throughout KY over the years. This is the best program I have been part of at growing KY agriculture by allowing participants to develop into better managers, farmers, businessmen and women, thinkers, agronomists, and on and on. The biggest take away is the relationships created through success and struggles of real life on the farm events. Learning through wins and losses within the agriculture communities in our state will never be replaced by a computer, a smart phone, or AI but will absolutely always require great people willing to work long hard hours to make hard decisions that I believe a program like this continues to help guide them through.

We welcomed our SEVENTH class of farmers to our CORE program today during their first session of the two year program.

For nearly 20 years, the CORE Farmer Program has empowered Kentucky farmers with knowledge and provided growth opportunities for our growers with classroom-style instructional learning, on-farm practicals, and international expeditions.

These farmers will learn from experts, be exposed to new farming techniques, and network with other farmers to strengthen our state’s corn-growing community.

NCGA's leadership met today with Secretary Brooke Rollins at USDA. Our leaders raised concerns about the ag economy and stressed the need to develop new export markets for corn. They also raised the need for more transparency on input markets. We appreciate Secretary Rollins for her continued support for year-round E15.
