CSA week 8 of 8 feels like one long hug goodbye to Summer 💛

Amaranth, Celosia, Dahlias, Feverfew, Foxglove, Lisianthus, Verbena, and Zinnias.

This may be my favorite palette this season..

Let’s talk Zinnias!

We know they are a fan favorite and we love growing them at our Ranch… BUT, they can be little rascals. As always they are harvested at the perfect time to optimize vase life but, it’s still not the strongest. Their stems can dirty up the water quicker than normal so be sure to change your water more frequently.

They are absolutely worth the extra care!

Pretty pictures of flowers are fun to post, but there’s so much more to flower farming and design.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes peek of the CSA process!
Special note: before this can happen, the flowers need to be harvested.
And before they can be harvested, the seeds need to be sown.
And before that? Crop planning.

I know how satisfying it would have been to watch every flower get pulled off the table, but I was stopped mid-process because our oldest was needed for a neighborhood kickball game. 😆
This is what I’m going to miss most about living in town, we live in such a fun neighborhood!

Week 5 CSA’s feel like Summer and Fall collided.
To be honest, I’m not so sure about these cooler mornings but the flowers are loving them!
💛🧡❤️🩷

Inside the bouquets you’ll find: Baptisia foliage, Craspedia, Cress, Marigolds, Snapdragons, Yarrow, and Zinnias. If you look closely, you may find a dahlia or two in a handful of bouquets. ☺️

This photo tugged at my heartstrings the first time I saw it..

One of the first things my bride told me was how much she loved snapdragons because they reminded her of her grandmother. From that moment, I knew I wanted to create petite snapdragon bouquets for each of her bridesmaids! My hope is that every time she looked around that day, she was reminded of her grandmother.

Your wedding flowers should reflect you and your story. 🩷
