💨There are some strong winds and dark clouds today with a bonus of our power being out since yesterday afternoon but there's still goodies ready in the cooler!

✨ We're back! ✨
Open Daily 9am-dusk
(weather permitting).

🐓Though we got back in town yesterday and were open all day yesterday as well ... we had a gazillion things to catch up on around the homestead and forgot to post!

🥚Fresh Duck and Chicken eggs available in our roadside egg wagon or place an order to be sure you don't miss out!

📝Now onto the other half of our "vacation" which will consist of tackling long over due homestead tasks!

✨Schedule update!✨

⏰ We will be open today until dusk and then closed Sunday (6\14) until Wednesday morning (6\24) this week so grab your eggs today from the wagon while we have them!

🌊 Birch Rock Homestead is going to the lake for some much needed lake air, family time, and relaxation!

🐓Instead of asking our amazing farm help to do even more than they already are while we are gone we have chosen to close the egg wagon for a few days.

🏡 We greatly appreciate our customers and their business but taking care of our critters and home is and will always be our top priority and honestly that takes a lot of time and energy in of itself - without the added responsibilities of running the egg wagon.

📝Rest assured we will still be taking egg orders for when we are back in town so please feel free to reach out if you have a request!

🫪One of our ladies has set the bar high for our egg-spectations!

If I hadn't of collected this green egg myself from the chicken coop and then washed it myself I would have thought it was a duck egg by its size! 🥚🐔

📏 Posed next to a white and a blue duck egg and then a sharpie for size comparison.

Can't wait to crack it open for our breakfast omelette tomorrow and see if it's a double yolker! 🍳

🎉 We are OPEN!!! 🎉

🥚What an egg-celent day for an announcement! 🥚😉

Lots has been happening behind the scenes since our "soft launch" of the egg wagon ...

🎉With so much excitement I am proud to finally say that we are officially open and spreading the word!

Through a whole bunch of trial and error and lots of life throwing us curve balls we didn't anticipate we have decided to have the egg wagon open daily from 9am til dusk - weather permitting! 👐

✨You can count on the cooler to be stocked daily with a variety of both fresh chicken eggs and fresh duck eggs!✨

🌞If weather is projected to be beyond what we think our umbrella and wagon can handle (ie strong winds or crazy storms⛈️) we will remain closed for that day and will post closing announcements on our socials.

🧺 Here on the homestead we collect and wash the eggs our pasture raised hens lay daily and are planning to offer both varieties of duck and chicken in dozen and half dozen cartons.

📝As always we will continue to take orders for pickup so please, feel free to message us if you'd like to place an order!

A huge shout-out and thank you to those who have made this endeavor possible and those who have been loyal egg customers from the start! 🥰 You're the real mvps and we wouldn't have gotten here without you!

We've still got some upgrades and adjustments to make to our little roadside wagon setup so stay tuned for updates on those as well. 😉

Whelp.. we had to use our well water for the first time this spring. 💦💧☔Our rain water supplies have run dry and our critters\ garden needed a fresh cool drink after these super dry past few days! I wasn't as thrilled about filling buckets as my little farm hand seemed to be but her enjoying the little things truly makes the work less of a chore. ..
We may or may not have both ended up completely covered in water by the end of this chore (completely by accident) but it was refreshing and worth it.
Thanking God for a good well. 🙌🤣

✨🥚Big Update!🥚✨

We are now offering eggs in our roadside wagon-with more goodies to come as the season progresses!
Hosting a soft opening this weekend and we couldn't be more excited. 🥰
It's not our final stand (as that's still a work in progress) and we will likely only offer this a few days a week, BUT we've felt called to do something in the mean time to provide for our community. So here we are! 😁

It's been a minute since you've had a chicken and duck update!🦆🐔

These critters have grown up quickly (including the human one) but my gosh are they still so fun to watch explore.

We spotted some TINY little shells unearthing from our muddy pastures this morning as we did chores. Check out the end of the video to see just how itty bitty they are! 🐚 🐌
Little bit of backstory-Most of our pastures were very water logged and had several drainage issues when we first moved in all along the stream that leads into our pond. Though fixing these issues has been and will be an ongoing effort we've made enough progress to not only be able to drive vehicles in the pastures (without getting stuck) but we've also been able to let our bird crews explore outside of their runs more too!
Lots of excitement for everyone as I'm sure you can imagine.
