Farming in the regenerative style can be slow and frustrating. It’s problem solving on long term timeframes. Lots of noticing issues and saying whelp, gotta address that over the next few years.

Today, I noticed some of that patience paying off. You are looking at parasitic wasp eggs laid into my least favorite pest, a tomato hornworm. They can devastate a crop in a very smal amount of time. Like strip a mature plant of all its leaves overnight! The parasitic wasp is a beloved garden ally on the regenerative farm. It lays eggs in the worm then the larvae eat it when they hatch. It’s very metal.

Fun fact about me - the texture of the hornworm really bothers me. Makes me want to vomit! I greatly dislike touching them, so I’m overjoyed to have a little help in dealing with these alien nightmares.

Hope you are eating well farm fam,

Our bins runneth over! This week there’s more tomatoes (beefsteak and cherry types) and a few new crops. The celery is finally ready and we were able to grab a few apples off our tree, despite the hard spring frost. This will probably be the only week for apples. All your favs are in there…zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, red cabbage, carrots, storage onions, rosemary, shish*to peppers and pimento peppers. Child’s arm not included.
