Good evening folks! It was truely a beautiful day in Pennsylvania!
There is nothing at all wrong with moderate temps and some light sprinkling rain. πŸ˜€

After breakfast we decided to have a light, relaxing day. Which we took. But, day falls into evening and things still need to get done.

So, refuse is loaded and ready for the street tomorrow,

Sourdough has been mixed ... and in another Β½ hour I can start the stretch and folds every half hour, four stretches over a 2 hour period and then additional 6+ hours (or so) of "bulk proofing"(rising), then a stretch of "cold proofing" in a bannaton in the fridge for 8+ hours before baking (no, I don't shape mine before baking, i just dump in into a well floured bannaton)...

Tomorrow is another day and another plan (always subject to change, lol) ...

Have an awesome night folks, and God Bless.

Well, baked a fresh loaf of sourdough bread for this mornings breakfast. Now working on a batch of our own garden fresh dilly beans. Everything grown right here on site, green beans, garlic and dill ... With this batch we're using a Russian variety of hardneck garlic.

Have a great day and God Bless.

And Fridays harvest of beans, along with Sunday's... enough to do a canner of Dilly Beans tomorrow and lots more coming, until the frost ...

Broccoli... nah, not this season 😞 ... tomatoes as well 😞, been buying from local stands ...(V23 and Addies).

And have had some awesome, flavorful, sweet, juicy local cantelopes and tomatoes from Burton's Farm Market in Olean, and at V23 on East Valley rd.

Yes, I admit, been letting the grass and wildflowers grow rampart for the last month (4 weeks +/-) , since berry season ... BUT, we've noticed literally TONS of pollinators, including honey bees ... So thankful.

G'night folks. God Bless.

Good morning folks!

"It's a beautiful day in Pennsylvania."

We'd like to thank you all for a bountiful berry season again this year.

The past several years have had shorter seasons than past years, we can still remember the 6 plus week seasons that we had when we purchased the farm. But, it is what it is and we enjoy what has been given to us.

Thank y'all again and God Bless.

Well, good night folks. Yes, at nearly 11 pm, it's night.Im still up baking a blueberry pie ... im not the best at pies ...

Well, good night folks. Yes, at nearly 11 pm, it's night.

Im still up baking a blueberry pie ... im not the best at pies though ... lmao.

The coffee cake and muffins turned our good, no wonder that I have such a belly ... lol

I think the fresh @ season is winding down, the berries are getting too ripe... Perfect, maybe for jams, jellies, wine, etc . But fresh eating, no.

Because our 2 fields are accessible without carts or help, we're keep them open.

They'll be on the honor system, scale provided, but have at it ... We do feed enough to the wildlife ...

Self Service, honor system, $1.50/lb (maybe) ... just be fair for costs ...

God Bless y'all.

Good morning folks!

"It's a beautiful day in Pennsylvania."

Just want to keep you informed, there does seem to be a lot of berries left, but they are ripening faster than they are being picked.

Summer gets busy for all of us, and I'm going to have start catching up ... So ...

Starting today, we're going to self service, and on the "honor system" until y'all have your fill of berries. It's truely a shame that so many go unpicked, so we're not closing the patches, just the office.

I'll leave some buckets out for you to use and rinse, they'll be a scale and a money box. Just put in what you think is fair.

Most times I should be somewhere around or catching up on chores, errands and such.

Thank you all and God Bless.

Even though it's very warm and humid out there, there's nothing better to do on a rain out day at the Blueberry farm than to bake some goodies ...

Yes, I bake too ... so far I put some jumbo "Zesty Lemon Blueberry Muffins" in the oven ... fresh blueberries that I picked today in the rain, lol.

Next up is maybe a Blueberry coffee cake... But I just can't find the recipe that I used 25 years ago, the one that I used to sell on Sundays at the farm ... but, I'll improvise and use a new one ...

Then, I'm going to bar-b- que a split chicken breast, maybe with a baked potato and a fresh garden salad ...

Gosh, life is good and we've been Blessed. Thank you for all of your support, we couldn't do it without y'all.

God Bless.
