In a world that is quickly becoming the norm to be a non-self-creator, a non-self-discoverer, a non-self-constructor, I’m grateful for this opportunity to send my son to the non-norm.
This will be his classroom for the next 9 months. Empowering himself and his peers on their individual skills and interests.
No walls. No lights. No fancy projector.
Just basic outdoors.
Full of self-discovery. Full of team collaboration. Full of immersive learning.
See, I don’t want my kids to grow up to be just like me, or my husband, or my family, friends, or anyone else. I want them to discover them! For my son to be my son. For my daughter to be my daughter. As God designed them…to be them. So if that means guiding them to a place where there are no round holes for all the square pegs, then that’s what we’ll do.
And, I pray you, too, can accept that the norm is beige in a very colorful world! 💚🧡💙❤️🩵💛💜🩷
Much Love,
Dr. Sarah Pendergest
