Absolutely! Support your family's health when you Support your local farmers!!

Beautiful view, right? But, did you know our family farms and ranches are rapidly disappearing. Many reasons why and here’s some.
We are a nation dependent on foreign food to feed us. For example, there’s 87 million head of cattle in the US ( including dairy , calves ect). There’s 340 million people in the US. It takes an average of 1 cow to feed a family of 4. 340,000,000~4 = 85,000,000. Because we have imported Beef for years from other countries to sell cheap food, we have caused thousands of farms to go under. And now we have a critically low supply. Same thing happened to sheep/lamb farmers out west. And it’ll keep happening until changes are made. The USDA needs to support its small farms! In 2018 the USDA gave JBS , a Brazilian owned meat packer, 22.3 millions dollars for a farm bailout package. What about your American farm families USDA? JBS is one of the 4 Huge meat packers that controls 85% of our beef packing in the US. And guess what? Most is imported from South America, Mexico, Australia ect. But, that imported meat can be stamped product of USA because it’s processed in the USA. In our neck of the woods we call this a big fat lie ( or Bull s**t), which ever you prefer.
HOW YOU CAN HELP purchase from local farms and small businesses, Or local butchers- but ask where the meat comes from and hope for honesty. Many good butchers still buy in freezer meats and that is usually from other countries.
Do Research. Look up where your favorite foods come from. Be A Voice. Eat Seasonally and stop supporting so much produce being shipped in from foreign countries. Example, Tomatoes are in season now, not the middle of winter. I bet many have bought tomatoes in the winter only to be disappointed and not eat all of them=money wasted. Been there. Shop local. Might cost a few dollars more, but it’ll taste way better, be healthier and keep your hard earned money in the community…. And you’ll eat it all! No waste. You might have to start small, a little change at a time, But if we all do this together, we can make a Huge Impact! Please try. Thank you!
