Day 3....Mulching the Front Edible Garden. Picked some Passion fruit leaves for Tea, Picked a Watermelon for Hydration and Swimming with the kiddos.

The grocery store has made us forget that food has seasons. 🌱🍓🍅

Having access to almost every fruit and vegetable year-round has completely changed our understanding of how food actually grows. We’ve become so accustomed to seeing strawberries in winter, watermelon year-round, and tomatoes whenever we want them that many people don’t realize these foods naturally have growing seasons.

Nature was never designed to produce everything, everywhere, all year long.

There’s something powerful about reconnecting with the seasons—knowing when your food grows, where it comes from, and learning to eat with the natural rhythms of the earth.

Convenience gave us access…but somewhere along the way, it also disconnected us from our food. 🌿

Some of what my morning consisted of: Moving and setting bricks, creating an archway in the orchard area and rehydrating with freshly picked watermelon from my front yard!
