We still have plenty of carving pumpkins left for $5 each, several mums that are just starting to show color for $7 each or 3 for $20, and square bales of straw for $7 each.

We have a couple of the bigger mums and just a few smaller pumpkins left, but most everything else has sold out.

Around here, we call it all molasses, but there’s a difference! Sorghum molasses is made by pressing the juice from sweet sorghum cane and cooking it down into a sweet syrup. Store-bought molasses is usually a byproduct of making sugar from sugarcane or sugar beets, and it has a stronger, richer flavor.

Sorghum has a long history in Appalachia and the South. Before sugar was as affordable and readily available as it is today, many families grew their own sorghum cane and cooked it down to make a sweetener for the year. Making molasses was often a community event, with neighbors gathering to help, share a meal, and enjoy the day.

Sorghum has its own unique taste. Some folks love it, and some don’t care for it as much, but it’s great on biscuits, pancakes, and cornbread. It’s also used in cookies, popcorn balls, and other old-fashioned recipes. You can use it in place of store-bought molasses in many recipes, though the flavor will be a little different. There’s just something special about a jar of homemade sorghum molasses!

Hey guys! Our self-service pumpkins and mums are officially set up! 🎃🌾

Quick heads up—we moved the setup this year right to where we grow the mums. The new signs aren't up yet, but you can’t miss us. Just look for our farm sign and mailbox, and everything is at the bottom of the driveway.

We’ve got pumpkins, cushaws, gourds, straw, mums, and plenty more to pick from!
