We "knew" this but thought we'd share; The "Skinny" Steak
Red meat has a bad rap. The thing is, it really is good for you. Ideally, go for a cut that is both lean and grass-fed. A recent report from the Union of Concerned Scientists shows that meat from grass-fed cows usually has more conjugated linoleic acid (which has been shown in animal studies to combat cancer) and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids than the grain-fed variety. Plus, meat from grass-fed cows is lower in total fat and calories. As long as your serving is a lean cut, such as tenderloin, feel free to make this smart choice two or three times a week, says Bowden.
Bonus benefits: Beef is a great source of protein, iron (a mineral that one in five women are deficient in), and heart-healthy B vitamins.

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie. ~Jim Davis

Due to the high cost of insurance and lack of water issues, we will not be able to sell our wonderful organic produce for the 2012 growing season. We have looked high and far to rectify this sad expensive issue, but can't for this growing season. We hope that we will be able make deliveries in the 2013 growing season. With much thankfulness for the many friends and family that have supported us during this journey, and those we have yet to meet, many blessings~~

Native Americans all over the U.S. and Canada use a term they call the Three Sisters
to describe the Native American way of life through the gardening technique of
planting corn, beans and squash together on the same mound. These Three Sisters - corn,
beans and squash supplement and compliment each other. The vines of the bean plant
grow up the corn stalk. The huge leaves of the squash vines keep the ground moist for
all of the roots. The nutritious vitamins from each of the plants escapes into the soil
so that they each benefit from one another.

Everything that slows us down and forces patience, everything that sets us back into the slow circles of nature, is a help. Gardening is an instrument of grace.

I don't think America will have really made it until we have our own salad dressing. Until then we're stuck behind the French, Italians, Russians and Caesarians.
