The tomatoes are finally ripe! We got a bit of late start on getting them in the ground, but all is well in this long hot dry summer (at least for tomatoes). We have cherry and some medium sized tomatoes with the big heirloom ones on the way soon. Oh, and the sunflowers are beaming right now 🌻

We have another couple new items in the farmstand today. Our front yard elderberry has produced a heavy crop this year, so if you're looking for berries for jam or preserves, stop by. These berries are not to be eaten raw; please make sure you cook them first! We also have Swiss chard bunches available. These are great for sautéing and adding to pasta or eggs. It's a super versatile and healthy treat!

We have a couple new crops starting to come in this weekend: crisp, tasty cobra green beans and two different types of cucumbers. The long curvy cucumbers are a Chinese heirloom variety called Suyo. They're sweet and crisp. The shorter, plump cucumbers are Marketmore variety, which have a nice mild flavor. Of course, if you're looking for something even more on the sweet side, there's always blackberries here for ya!

We have a new item in the farmstand fridge and it goes by many names. Some call it dinosaur kale, due to it's rumpled dino-skin like texture. It's also referred to as lacinato kale, Tuscany kale, black kale, or its original Italian name Cavolo Nero. Whatever you like to call it, stop by and grab a bag. Get your vitamins A, K, C, and folate. So much tastier than your vitamin pill.

Happy Juneteenth!

Heard a familiar noise this morning while harvesting peas out in the front yard garden and looked up to see Snohomish Balloon Rides company gliding overhead. Must have been an incredible view from up there today.

Beyond peas and greens available at our farmstand, we have free tomato starts at the Seed Library. Someone sowed too many, so please take some off our hands. There are 2 varieties out there right now, Pomodoro sauce tomato and Polar Beauty early ripening heirloom tomato.
