Here at Incident Catering we are fully prepared to respond to natural disasters like the wildfires impacting the U.S.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Oct. 29, the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC)
reported 15 active fires that had burned 1.7 million acres. Of those, 6 were considered large uncontained fires. There have been 48,366 wildfires in the U.S. in 2021, burning a cumulative 6.5 million acres. Both those statistics are below the 10-year averages, despite some of the largest fires in history happening this year.

This past week, The Pacific northwest was hit by two unusual weather conditions.

An atmospheric river and a bomb cyclone.

As of Monday morning, 45,000 customers in Washington state, 4,100 in Oregon and 114,000 in California were without power.

This past week's weather event could have easily turned more severe, requiring disaster relief assistance. Here at Incident Catering, we are able to provide a fully functioning mobile catering service acting as a virtual restaurant just a few hours after on-site arrival.
………………..

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), an atmospheric river is "a flowing column of condensed water v***r" that moves through the atmosphere and cools, producing heavy amounts of rain and snow. The NOAA says powerful atmospheric rivers could cause flooding and even mudslides.

So for those of you who are wondering what is causing so much rainfall and haven't heard the news, this is why the west coast has been hit particularly hard with a large quantity of rainfall. A bomb cyclone occurs when a low-pressure area drops 24 millibars in 24 hours or on average 1 millibar per hour over 24 hours.
