Good morning everyone! Okay, look. I’ve been sick, and now I’m getting some dental work done today, so let’s give you the rundown before I’m out of commission for another day or two. - Jess Meroney

So, as you can see we are planning our holiday events. We technically got our start with monthly potlucks last Thanksgiving, so I am extremely excited to celebrate our “1 year” anniversary with all of our neighbors in November. I’ll be sharing more info on how to RSVP to that soon so be thinking about what you might want to whip up and share with the community!

Tickets start going on sale tomorrow for our Halloween Carnival event. It’s going to be a fun time full of games, prizes, and complementary snack items to get you fueled up for the night. There won’t be any trick or treating at this event, BUT there will be tons of candy to win.

We are also looking for a few volunteers to help us run the various stations on Halloween. We need help running a small campfire for s’mores, and would love to have a good storyteller to join us by the fire. We also need assistance with running the games and prize booths, so if that sounds like any fun to you please reach out! You can DM us here or send an email to [email protected]

ALSO, we are asking folks for some candy donations for this event and to help us during the Soddy Daisy Library’s Eekstravaganza! Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can also find the Zeffy link in our bio if you’d like to send a financial donation.

And lastly, starting this Saturday you can find us at the farmer’s market here in Soddy Daisy to find out more about our goals for helping our community. We will have a few pantry and clothing items available for anyone with a need as we thought this might be another good way to increase accessibility for some folks.

Hey y’all! We are popping in to show you guys what we’ve got in store for the remainder of the year, and also to ask for help from our community.

As you can see, we have two events coming up for Halloween and while I’ve been asking for financial donations recently it would be super duper helpful if we could get some bags of Halloween candy donated as well.

Starting in September, you will be able to find us every Saturday from then through October at the Soddy Daisy Farmers Market. There you can drop off any donated goods, ask us questions, and even get a wax melt as a token of appreciation for your assistance.

If you have any questions please reach out! If you are wanting to volunteer in any capacity we do have a Discord server that I can send you a link for. I know some people have this belief that Discord is just for gamers, but I promise you the “professionals” use that and other variations like Slack to stay better connected to their folk.

We need your help in order to book our Christmas spot. Halloween and Thanksgiving are covered! Tell ya more about that later. For now, we are humbly asking for any extra dollar you can spare so that we can keep our neighbors fed this holiday season. We are trying to raise about $500 to book a venue big enough for Santa to come and spread some cheer.

Please consider donating today so that we can continue hosting our monthly meals for the community. We’re really looking forward to doing something special for our neighbors when the holidays come around and the season is closing in fast!

Beyond that, we are aiming to raise the funds for a cafe or food truck that would offer a variety of meals for all types of customers, including those who might be struggling financially through a Pay-it-Forward Program.

I can’t do it alone! Y’all, I need help. I’ve been wearing a lot of hats over this past year, and while attendance at events has not been what I originally envisioned…we’ve been doing the dang thing. We’re building connections and support systems. We’re feeding our neighbors. We are ready to grow.

But in order to do that, we need a little help from our neighbors. You can find all the links on our page if you’re interested in donating or subscribing to our newsletter. Our newsletter is through Beehiiv and has a free or paid tier, but they’ll both have the same content. It’s just another way to show consistent support.
