It truly feels amazing to have downsized our farm to a much more manageable size for our family to handle. We have majorly decreased our pig herd and goat herd and chickens, as well. I cannot wait to give more attention and time with those who will remain here. It feels so much calmer. I cannot wait to get our farm and barns cleaned up. We will get to regrow grass. We are down to only pigs who eat grass and root far less. We will be able to grow grass back in our HUGE pig yard. We will be able to fix things the more destructable farm pigs ruined and broke. We will be able to create amazing looking pastures and barnyards that can stay that way. We had put so much time and energy into these areas just to have them beat it all up. It is time to make this business smaller and more manageable and I cannot wait to make it the homestead we had originally set out to have. God is so good! Time to spoil our animals EVEN more than we have been able to do with more individual attention and love. Don't get me wrong, the others lived amazing lives too, but I miss when we really got to bond with our pigs, chickens, ducks, and goats when we had much smaller herds! We will be able to also finally raise animals for our family and more easily collect and keep up with eggs! Thanking God for what He has done for us and what this next chapter will look like too! I am keeping my business, but just scaling way back! We will be much more purposeful! 🥰👩‍🌾🫶

So incredibly grateful for Kelly Neale DVM! She came out today to check my horses baselines since they are new to me. She said they overall look great! She gave the girls their mandatory vaccines, checking stool samples to recommend for future preventative dewormer, and gave us great recommendations for their continued care! She is knowledgeable, patient, affordable, and caring! She did an amazing job with my girls today! When I couldn't find any other vet willing to come out to our area, she said she would! I highly recommend her for horses and small farm animal care! I couldn't be more happy about our paths crossing! Thabk you so much, Dr. Kelly Neale DVM!

Tomorrow, the girls will get their hooves done by Alli Gorton ! Over the summer, we plan to get a baseline done for the girls' teeth! I feel so great knowing my girls are being well cared for their vet care, hoof care, and for their teeth by some really awesome and knowledgeable people! 🫶🥰🐴🐴🎀

Valentine's Day nails thanks to So Lovely Nail Salon, LLC ! They always turn out amazing! I am already thinking of my next color(s)! It is nice to have nails that can survive my farm work, teaching (with using markers and hand sanitizer, etc.!), and washing dishes!

My husband also spoiled me with a gift certificate from another local business for our wedding anniversary back in November! I was able to get two pedicures out of it and enjoyed a pedicure yesterday! It was nice to be pampered over my February break off of teaching! Farm ladies deserve a treat and to get some selfcare and pampering done too! 🫶💛💅👩‍🌾

I haven't posted in a while...here's a little update...

I brushed my horses, including their manes and tails! I chose the colors for their hairties and Aubry helped make my vision come true! If you know my daughter Aubry, you would know that she is an amazing braid maker. Millie and Beatrix enjoyed getting pampered! I was able to trim up Beatrix's bangs and tail!

My husband was able to get most of the glue that was stuck in Beatrix's hair out. She had hard glue in her hair from when she was supposed to get sold at an auction. A second chance rescue saved her and then another woman adopted her! It has been so close to her skin that it wasn't safe to get it out then. When she came to live with us it had still been way too close to her skin, it has since grown out enough for us to have safely cut most of it out.

We finally found a vet willing to come out to our area! Tomorrow, our vet comes out! Friday the girls get their hooves done! We will talk to the vet about who she suggests for their teeth! My dream of owning a farm came true but the two animals I originally wanted (in addition to cats and dogs) were ducks and horses! I finally had my dream come true!

My kiddos came to me wanting pigs and chickens! What did we get first? Pigs and chickens! Seeing their dreams come true first matters to me more! As mommas, we put ourselves last! Finally, I got my ducks and my horses! It is truly a dream come true!

When I am in the presence of my horses, it seems like it isn't really happening! Thanking God every single day for Him giving me not only my needs, but also my heart's desires! He has spoiled me and I won't ever take it for granted! I will continue to spoil my farm babies and make things better and better here for them and for my family! God is so amazing! He always has been! Even in all of my darkest times and I have had a fair share of those!
