Hi peeps! 🐣

My name is Skaar. I came to Darlings' Heart & Sow Homestead, LLC as a chick with 5 others chicks. We were all supposed to be girls, but I mistakenly identified. Thinking, I was a girl, I had been named Scarlett. Once realizing I was a rooster and the most handsome rooster my farm peeps had ever seen, I had been renamed "Scar"!

As some of you know, we have themes for our different groupings on our forever farm. My family changed my spelling to "Skaar" because our entire chicken flock are all named after DC and Marvel character names. For those of you who do not know, "Skaar" is the son of Hulk.

My farm peeps think I am the friendliest rooster they have ever met or owned. Oh, and did I mention that I am the most handsome? 🤔 Oh, wait...I did...didn't I?!

Oh...and guess what?! CHICKEN BUTT! lol I am funny and weird like that! 😆😂

Good Morning, Y'all!

It has been a while! But I am back! I am much more active on social media during the Summer months, since I am also a teacher during the school year!

Our first time Momma goat is doing absolutely amazing! I could not be more proud of her! She immediately cleaned her babies off, she took care of her after birth, and then proceeded to feed them! She had twins! A boy and girl just like me and my twinny! They were born last night on Friday, 10th!

Baby A is a boy! He looks just like his dad aka Kristoff! He is literally a mini him! Kristoff is a first time daddy! We named this little guy K.J. aka Kristoff Junior!

Baby B is a girl! We named her after her late aunt! Her name is Mal short for Malificent! I love her color! She is chocolate with white markings!

They are truly so sweet! They are beautiful! They are healthy and thriving!

We have more baby goats arriving soon! Momma Merida is also a first time Momma! We had her since she was a baby! Her buck is our other boy named Milo! He is also going to be a first time dad!

I promise to do much better with posting!

It truly feels amazing to have downsized our farm to a much more manageable size for our family to handle. We have major...

It truly feels amazing to have downsized our farm to a much more manageable size for our family to handle. We have majorly decreased our pig herd and goat herd and chickens, as well. I cannot wait to give more attention and time with those who will remain here. It feels so much calmer. I cannot wait to get our farm and barns cleaned up. We will get to regrow grass. We are down to only pigs who eat grass and root far less. We will be able to grow grass back in our HUGE pig yard. We will be able to fix things the more destructable farm pigs ruined and broke. We will be able to create amazing looking pastures and barnyards that can stay that way. We had put so much time and energy into these areas just to have them beat it all up. It is time to make this business smaller and more manageable and I cannot wait to make it the homestead we had originally set out to have. God is so good! Time to spoil our animals EVEN more than we have been able to do with more individual attention and love. Don't get me wrong, the others lived amazing lives too, but I miss when we really got to bond with our pigs, chickens, ducks, and goats when we had much smaller herds! We will be able to also finally raise animals for our family and more easily collect and keep up with eggs! Thanking God for what He has done for us and what this next chapter will look like too! I am keeping my business, but just scaling way back! We will be much more purposeful! 🥰👩‍🌾🫶
