As we settled into this shortest day of the year I'm reminded how quick the days are passing by with our kids. With the eldest one graduating in the Spring it's becoming clearer that there are still so many memories we want to create & share with them. So that's why pulling off the biggest Christmas surprise in family history was so important yesterday!
With a little help from our new friends at Little Way Acres we were able to bring home the newest member of the homestead without discovery. It didn't hurt that the boys already had plans with Scouts BSA Troop 541 & there was a need for a girls day of shopping.
Without further commentary, let me introduce you to Temple, our newest Colorado Mountain Dog pup! She is the cutest little butterball, full of fur. She looks tiny compared to Einstein, even though they are only 2 months apart. We can't wait to see her personality shine! She's very indifferent to Einstein so far & has decided to share with us that the leash is not her favorite thing. Einstein in turn is just a wee bit jealous, but loves to incite some play time. We are excited to see them both grow in size & training as they learn to protect our critters & home.
Temple is named after Dr. Temple Grandin, an animal science professor at Colorado State University who is known for being an advocate for the ethical treatment of livestock. Our daughter obsessively read many books about her when she was younger. In keeping with the naming of dogs after scientists the name was an easy one to pick! You can learn more about her here: www.templegrandin.com
More pictures soon when we gain a little more daylight! Happy Solstice everyone! Welcome winter! ❄️
