🇮🇹Today, we’re introducing Capanna, one of Tuscany’s finest estates in Montalcino.🍷

Capanna has been part of the fabric of Montalcino with roots dating back to the 1950s when the Cencioni family began cultivating vineyards in this celebrated corner of Tuscany. Today, the estate remains family-owned and committed to the traditional character of Montalcino, with a focus on Sangiovese and wines that reflect their vineyard origins.

These wines are classic expressions of Sangiovese—combining elegance, structure, and savory character that make this corner of Tuscany so iconic. From bright red fruit and wild herbs to earthy spice and refined tannins, these are wines built for the table and made to reward time in the glass.

Founded in 2001 by Madrid native, Aurelio Cabestrero, began importing some of his favorite producers in 2002 and boy is he nuts about Spanish wine… All producers are family winegrowers that focus solely on quality and limited production.

There are gems everywhere in this book, so we’re launching 7 wines that are new to the Ohio market and speak to each D.O.’s distinctive, regional style. These are wines with personality, quality, and character that strike the modern finesse and balance between fruit and oak. These are good values and represent authentic expressions of Spanish wine.

Chateau Lamothe de Haux ~ BORDEAUX 🇫🇷

Located in the southwest of Bordeaux lies Chateau Lamothe, crafting estate-bottled wines since the 16th century. Winemaker Damien Chombart believes that sustainable farming is not only stewardship of the land, but also serves as a way to enhance the way of life of farmers and their communities. By implementing biodiversity in the vineyard, the estate was awarded the French “Haute Valeur Environementale” certification in 2018.

Most of their 60 hectares plantings, on clay and limestone slopes, contribute to their world-renowned Bordeaux Blanc, a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscadelle, and Colombard. Their Bordeaux Rouge is a classic example of the Right Bank. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a small amount of Cabernet Franc that has dark and red fruit notes, earth, and dried herbs. Savory, complex, but shows plenty of finesse.

Falanghina and Greco di Tufo deliver bright citrus, floral notes, minerality, and refreshing acidity, alongside Fiano di Avellino with its elegant texture and layered complexity. For red lovers, Aglianico brings dark fruit, spice, structure, and the kind of savory depth that makes Campanian wine so exciting. Native grapes, volcanic terroir.
