This week, we celebrate Chiara Cassará — lovingly known as Clara — my father’s only sister and the youngest of Sam and Maria’s four children. Born in Chicago in 1928, Clara was cherished by her three older brothers and remains a treasured part of our family story.

Inspired by her warmth and elegance, our Casa Cassara Arneis is a beautifully aromatic wine that pairs perfectly with light proteins and dishes featuring roasted fruits, citrus, nuts, or fragrant herbs like sage and thyme.

It’s Pinot Grigio Day! This special day was established to honor the beloved white wine grape variety known as Pinot gris, which has the remarkable ability to produce a wide spectrum of wine styles, capturing the palates of wine lovers across the globe.

Our 2023 Pinot Grigio ‘Zia’ is a light-bodied white wine and indicates the dry, everyday Italian style of wine, whereas Pinot Gris refers to the richer French (Alsace) style. While both are popular, Pinot Grigio tends to be the better known and more widely consumed of the two. Casa Cassará Pinot Grigio ‘Zia’ introduces the floral flavors that have a similar mouthfeel to a red wine and is light to medium in body, and it is best drunk young and fresh.

Happy Mother’s Day! We were featured in an article honoring wines dedicated to mothers across Santa Barbara County.

“At Casa Cassara Winery & Vineyard, the story is just as personal. Their “Mema” Sangiovese Rosé is named after owner Dan Cassara’s mother. “What can I say,” he said, “she was my mother; she influenced me for most of my life.” While Cassara has named blends after family members before, this one carries particular weight. “She was a bright spot in my life for 63 of my 75 years.”

Welcome to ✨FAMILY COLLECTION FRIDAY✨Today we are talking about Padrino! Our Sangiovese varietal has been one of our top sellers since 2018. This year’s Casa Cassara Sangiovese ‘Padrino’ offers the primary flavors of tart cherry, red plum, strawberry, and fig, with subtle notes of roasted pepper, tomato, leather, to***co, smoke, oregano, thyme, and potpourri. On the nose, it offers aromas of earth and tea leaf. This wine has a medium-to-high level of tannins and high acidity on the finish. It is also a Gold Medal winner at 2024 Orange County Fair (90 points), Silver Medal winner at 2025 Orange County Fair (86 points).
