Larner Vineyard is a 34-acre family owned vineyard located in the Santa Ynez Valley along Ballard Canyon. The vineyard rolls down a south facing slope and is planted in mostly sandy soils. Of the 34 acres planted in grapes, there are 22 acres of syrah, six acres of Grenache, two acres of Mourvedre, and two and a half of Viognier plus one and a half acres of Malvasia Bianca. yard has established itself as a premium vineyard site selling grapes to acclaimed wineries throughout Santa Barbara County and has gained notoriety from leading wine critics. UC Davis graduate Michael Larner runs the vineyard with his family and maintains a reputation for meticulous farming practices and top quality fruit.
*2009 marks the first vintage wine release for the new Larner Winery and Vineyard brand. Winemaker Michael Larner produces limited production, ultra-premium wines from Larner Vineyard grapes.
