The Autumn Olive is in full bloom currently, and it smells delightful! Despite being somewhat invasive, I allow it to grow in 2 spots on the farm, alongside pastures where it provides a shady resting area for both the pigs and laying chickens, and gives protection to the laying chickens when aerial predators are around. Its fall-blooming plentiful red berries provide feed for many native bird species

Meet Waldo, the first rooster we've had on the Farm in 10 or so years.
When we get Pullets (16-24 week old hens) every spring, its usually ALL hens.....until this year! This guy was in the mix of 349 hens. An accidental rooster! Finding him amidst the sea of chickens isn't easy, hence the name Waldo! Where's Waldo??!!
