Lagniappe Farm Alpacas

Lagniappe Farm Alpacas Hi! We are Merian Burkett and Mark Ownby. We are a small alpaca farm in north central Virginia. We also keep and raise free range chickens.

We also have chickens and one Lionhead bunny and one German Angora buck. I also make soaps, lotions and other bath and body products. We grow and forage medicinal herbs and use these in salves and some of our soaps. Visit our website www.lagniappe-farm.com to find more information on us and our farm and read our blog post.

While mowing some fence lines yesterday afternoon, I noticed a visitor in the corn field below the barn. He wasn't too bothered by me and after looking at me for about a minute, turned and trotted back towards the creek. I had a chat with Missy the LGD at the barn and she assured me she has it under control.

Our lakes are pretty full this morning after all the rain yesterday. Unfortunately we don't have lakes. These are freshly planted corn fields. Corn has sprouted and is about 3 inches high, so hopefully it will survive. Oh, and someone needs to tell the seagull to go home.
