We've been back out on our adventures for some time now! The children have grown so much! Homeschooling has been crazy fun all across the US!

We have a slightly different setup this time around. We wanted to avoid carrying so much weight everywhere we go. We'll be upgrading the truck and camper to explore some exciting off-road tracks here in the US and overseas.

It's great to be back, and we can't wait to see everyone soon!

Rise & Shine β˜€οΈ

We picked up Ariel, our newest doe in milk and she’s truly incredible and we love her temperament. So easy to milk and just the sweetest. There’s really nothing better than knowing where your milk comes from. Cheers to no longer buying milk or butter and maybe even cheese πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸŒΎπŸ€Ž

I spoke this into existence and it finally happened ✨

We are adding another beauty to our goat herd which is an exciting time because the kids will get to witness traditional milking first hand! We are excited to teach them the ways of caring for goat in milk. Also super excited to make all the things that can be done with goat milk!

The road to being self sufficient is crossing off things we won’t have to buy: milk, soap, cheese, and possibly ice cream!

This shall be fun! 🀩

We want to wish my wife a happy birthday! She's left us for midwifery school this weekend, which we are all happy about! Her little prius is back on the road! We sent her off with a couple of gifts, and some coffee. Have fun momma, bring something back you can practice on the children. πŸ˜†πŸ˜˜

Our sheds we are converting into tiny homes will be delivered in pieces next week, so me and the children will be preparing things this weekend. Next week we will hopefully have all the materials to get started and recording the exciting process of building the "tiny home mansion". That's what I call it anyway. 🀣

But yes, enjoy honey, we'll see you soon! 😬 πŸ’Œ Keonya Claybourne

Today marks 5 days we've had Henry and no complaints. He's really smart and completely understands if you talk to him and guide him. Our children of course go inside without us but are aware of the dangers of large livestock/buddies.

Yesterday we had a State Trooper stop pass because he said somone complained about our horse living in its natural habitat? Lol

He told us "someone" made a complaint about livestock, he simply said "most people don't understand this type of life style, I wish I could live like this". He found no issues with Henry and complimented his coat and build. Henry is on two types of daily feed and the highest grade hay available so he's filling out really well! He got here on just a pasture diet but we've beefed him up a bit. 😊

Henry also has another half acre here fenced in and multiple other properties in the county. We haven't sent him over that way yet, it's easier to train a horse in a smaller environment first.

Last night he decided to lay down, OUTSIDE his enclosure and sleep in the rain! This coat has him feeling like superman, but he's always been this way. He likes to be outside! So he isn't abused! He looks way too dapper for that. πŸ˜† Anyway, we're all good to go and the Trooper that came out with Troop A was awesome. My history in the military dates back to the cavalry unit that trained PSP Mounted Units, I just found that out yesterday. πŸ˜† Great Experience.

So that makes 3 times having the police called for whatever reason and they come out to wanting to learn and come back to visit when it's done. Lol Also, they subliminally tell us who calls, everytime. 🀣 🀣 We know, and we all stand around and laugh before they leave... Stop calling PSP old lady, they have more important things to do. They've said it. πŸ‘πŸΎ 🀣

Moving forward, this guy will be pulling a carriage/buggy soon! How fun?! πŸ‘¨πŸΎβ€πŸŒΎπŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŒΎπŸ‡πŸΎ -Sean

Rope halters has made all the difference. He's familiar with everyone now, he loves the children! I found them inside with him earlier. They practice clear from the rear, or stay away from behind him. If he can't see you, make yourself known.

He hasn't shown any skiddish behavior but I like to prepare for that. We've been working on ground work but again the halter has fixed some issues he had going on!

Really excited to get a saddle on him sooner than I thought, he seems to want to go, so we'll be doing some walks in the community for familiarization.

If you see us, say hello! ✨️

Henry has arrived! He bent down to greet Halo for the first time, he's a keeper. He's only two, so we won't be riding him just yet, especially not before I throw some shoes on him for the roads. A great edition to the family and he likes the goats. Lol I imagine once everyone gates join, they'll hang out. ❀️

Training them to the sound of the bell was pretty easy. Now, training them to carry packs and equipment. They aren't old enough to carry anything heavy but good practice to get them use to something on their back.

Never heard of this but I can see this working! Going to try this and see what happens 😬😬

If you have any gardening tips, drop them!

You may have heard of planting tomatoes on their side. It may sound like a weird thing to do, but here's why it works so well.

Tomato stems are full of parenchyma cells. These non-descript cells are located just below the epidermal layer. One of the coolest things parenchyma cells do is turn into roots, known as adventitious roots

By burying the plant sideways or very deeply in your garden, you’re putting more of the stem underground from the start to enable lots of adventitious root growth. This means your tomato plant now has a much more complex root system, making it easier to take up the water and nutrients needed to make bushel after bushel of tomatoes.

To learn more about how why this works and HOW to plant your tomatoes sideways, take a look at our guide here: https://www.ruralsprout.com/sideways-tomatoes/
