💥 PCR Royal Dash 💥

2020 mare | Derby year | Paid into all the major incentives

The kind everyone is looking for, big, fast, talented, and ready to win. All the hard work has been done. She’s seasoned, confident, and ready for her next person to go cash checks. 🥇

“Isa” has competed extensively throughout her futurity and derby years, proving she has what it takes to be a winner. She was the NRF Tour 2D Champion during her futurity year and most recently placed in the 2D Derby Slot Race in Winona, MN. She consistently runs 1D/2D locally and 2D-4D at the larger shows, with plenty of untapped potential still left to give.

Outside of the barrel pen, Isa trail rides, hauls, ties, and loads herself like a pro, alone or with company. She even keeps a clean stall on the road! 😉 Started in a cow horse program, she’s exceptionally broke and has all the buttons you want. She crosses water, swings a rope, drags logs, etc.
She’s easy to have around, gets along well with other horses, is lower in the pecking order, and is happy to mind her own business.

UTD on vaccinations, Coggins, dental care, farrier work, and routine barrel horse maintenance.

This is a difficult sale. The only reason Isa is available is because changes in my career will limit the time I have to haul and compete. She’s eligible for too many great incentives and has far too much talent to sit in the pasture.

PPEs are welcome at the buyer’s expense. Recent radiographs are on file and available to serious buyers.

ARC PistolPackNReyx (“EmmyLou”)

2019 Bay Mare | 14.3 HH

EmmyLou is the total package and checks all the boxes. This gorgeous 2019 bay mare is a granddaughter of Dual Rey and Playgun, standing 14.3 hands with plenty of bone and substance.

Finished barrel horses running 1D/2D locally and 2D/3D at larger races. Push-style, the more you hustle, the better she’ll clock.

Beyond the arena, EmmyLou has been trail ridden in the Black Hills, hauled all over, exposed to cattle, and fancy broke with all the buttons. She is quiet, honest, and would be great for a handy youth.

She passed a pre-purchase exam with flying colors just over a month ago, clean x rays. Runs on lasix, front shoes, and normal barrel horses maintenance. All the hard work has been done, she’s ready to go!

Training opening, ones going home so have room for a new one!

Patterning, exposure, seasoning, etc. Not taking anything rank, dangerous, or something that’s been sitting for 2 years and needs a restart. Be honest. 😃60 day minimum unless just a tune up on the pattern. PM me for details.

👏🏻 Please keeping hay in front of your ponies at all times, especially during these cold snaps!👏🏻

Quick tips:

- Throw fresh hay on top of netted bales every day during the really cold temps, this encourages them to keep eating. Id rather have them waste a little vs get bored and stop eating through the net.

- Don’t change up your routine/feed program too much. Changing it may do more harm than good. Simply upping loose salt is all I do!

🌾 Forage = Heat 🔥: Fueling horses through cold weather

Plummeting air temperatures mean your horse needs more energy to maintain their body temperature and condition. One of the best sources of warmth comes from fiber fermentation; the microbes in your horse’s hindgut generate heat as they digest forage. That’s why forage = heat.

During cold weather, meeting your horse's higher energy needs with forage is one of the most effective ways to help keep them warm and comfortable. How much forage is enough?

For every degree below 18°F, a horse's dietary energy needs increase 1%. For example, if a 1,000-pound horse needed 17.5 pounds of good-quality hay each day when the temperature was above 18°F, its requirement would be increased by about 3 pounds (to 20.5 pounds daily) if the temperature dropped to 0°F.

Let's break down the math in this example:
1,000-pound healthy horse at maintenance needs about 17 Mcal energy daily
Hay analysis indicates 0.97 Mcal energy per pound of hay

0.01 (% energy increase) x 17 Mcal (horse's daily energy) x 18 (number of degrees below 18°F) = 3 Mcal additional energy needed at 0°F.

3 Mcal additional energy / 0.97 Mcal energy per pound of hay = ~3 pounds of additional hay needed

3 pounds additional hay + 17.5 pounds hay daily (when above 18°F) = 20.5 pounds of hay per day to meet energy demands at 0°F
