McKinnon's Meat Market Local Butcher Shop featuring a large selection of meats, groceries, prepared foods, deli and produce. McKinnon's, opened its doors back in 1965

When brothers George and William McKinnon went their separate ways in the early 60's, George McKinnon opened McKinnon's Meat Market in Somerville's Davis Square with his friend and protege, Jimmy Kontos. A few years later, in 1965, Kontos purchased the Davis Square landmark from McKinnon, and ran Somerville's hometown favorite butcher shoppe for the next 50 years! In November, 2016, Charlie Bougas

and his team from Cambridge and Somerville, bring over 30 years of food service and meat, grocery and produce experience to the square. With help from Kontos, they're holding onto tradition while bringing the butcher shoppe into the 21st century and positioning the business for the next 50 years. If you haven't been to McKinnon's in a while, we think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
