It’s OUR birthday week!!! Tomorrow is our 8th year .market and my birthday is the day after.

I have experienced so much loss lately and am still grieving all if it while I recover at home now that the “big” thing is over and I have a moment to breathe. Like wtf did I just go through? How does that feel? How do I want to live my life and continue to show up for myself and others? Heavy emotions and thoughts but that’s for another time.

I wanted to celebrate our 7th birthday last year but we were in the final stretch of maca 2.0 store renovations and this year I’m recovering from SCT. I didn’t want 8 years to go by unnoticed and so I finally did the thing I’ve been wanting to do since the start and finally set up a loyalty program! You voted and it’s a mix of free stuffs and $ off and it’ll continue to be modified and edited based on what you want, I’m sure of it! You can sign up with the link in ’s bio! That’s a wrap yall! Well, temporarily 🫶🏼. I’ll miss this little store so much and am grateful I got to spend so much time here in the last week to really be in my store and enjoy what I’ve built. Here’s a collection of all the things that make me happy and hopefully bring you joy too.

I’m admitted to the hospital tomorrow to start my stem cell transplant (another birthday!) journey! The store is stocked and the drinks will be flowing thanks to the small but mighty maca team.

Hey Friends,

Today marks the official three week countdown to my hospital admission for stem cell transplant and exactly four weeks from day 0 (stem cell transplant day!) The nurses say I’ll be getting another birthday 🎉. I am excited and terrified at the same time and I plan to be in the hospital for six whole weeks with another 8 weeks of recovery at home.

We will stock the store up with as much as we can but once we sell out of macas, we will continue to sell our fresh made drinks and bubble tea, other snacks and merch! We can do it, we did it before, and I’ve been working with the team over the last several months fine tuning everything and they’ll be ready 🥰.

We will continue to be open Thursdays thru Sundays starting at noon, and will begin to extend hours as we get some nicer weather!

I don’t have a long list of needs at this moment because to be honest, I don’t know what I will need because every patient responds differently. But I truly appreciate everyone reaching out and staying in touch and also not forgetting about maca. Once I have a better sense of what the road looks like ahead I’ll post here and detailed posts will be on the caring bridge.

The only way out is through and so I’ll see yall on the other side so soon 💕. I’ll try to be at the shop as much as I can leading up to admission and then I’m trusting everyone in this orbit to due the damn thing.

My big brother. My angel. My protector. Gone far too soon… his birthday is this weekend and he would have been 45. Too goddamn young.

I am sad and devastated and I probably will be for the rest of my life. But we’re going to celebrate his life by filling the display case with his favorite dessert flavors and some never before seen drink specials THIS Saturday 3/14. 10% of sales will go to the American Heart Association. Please come by, he had great taste 💕 and he loved my cooking and baking and I’ll miss the joy it brought me to make him food.

Love you and miss you every day big bro. Life is not the same.

Wishing you all a happy and prosperous new year.

This one was tough to get through this year with everything that has been going on but we started planning this the date after last years event. When I was asked if I would still host after my diagnosis it was a yes but maybe we pivot. After I felt better in December, I decided instead of pivoting, we double down on the original concept and I think it was perfect.

A lot of people asked about Tamy in the store, which made my giggle. I guess it’s a good thing I don’t look so sick. Maybe that’s comforting to you. Or perhaps take it as a lesson that you never know what people are going through no matter how they appear on the outside. I’ve experienced so much loss since 2024 and the only way out is through.

Thank you for making it so easy to collaborate with, .market for creating a space for us to express ourselves and our culture, to all my fellow bow peeps who took the time to create food and drink specials, to for letting me play my music, to our AAPI vendors who came and set up in space, to for the incredible face painting, to all of you who continue to support and to all who came in such good spirits. 🧧LUNAR NEW YEAR PREORDER IS LIVE!🧧

(Pssttt and so are Vday preorders - dwindling to our last ten or so)

LNY has been my BIGGEST release in terms of the amount of folks who come through looking just for our release box and characters so it makes me sad to not operate at my full capacity this year but I still was able to release a half dozen box that I think you will still enjoy.

Each six piece box will include lychee raspberry (printed horse), black sesame (one of the printed kitties), coconut ube, matcha white chocolate strawberry, yuzu and jasmine green tea. The money bags are filled with red bean buttercream and red bean paste. If I can make more characters I will try :)

Oh! And instead of making brown teddy bears with hearts like last year I elected for pandas because LNY is so close to Vday this year - they’re filled with gluten free cookies n creme. Everything’s up on the online store.

Here for questions if you need me! LNY Extras will be sold in store starting Feb 19 but preorder the full box for access to all of the flavors. You won’t be able to select them online until Feb 20th after our LNY night market event. Hopefully next year will be more expansive for our offerings 💕 but we will post our full specials line up next week along with our fellow bow marker vendors! Stay tuned!

Today was a great day for a blood drive! What a blessing it is to be so deeply rooted in a community who shows up and cares for one another 💕 thank you to you, to the American Red Cross, all my bow peeps who came through and donated blood, time and/or snacks. Word on the street this was the best blood drive ever 😉

You make this move because maybe you’ll actually open a bakery one day. You rent out a commercial kitchen, you commit to five markets at the Somerville Flea. Pokémon Go takes off and your one wholesale account who is a bubble tea shop asks you to make Pokémon characters. You say yes because you’ve always wanted to have a bubble tea shop and you think macarons and bubble tea are the perfect combo.
