Yesterday was one of those days that reminds me what us small businesses are really made of.

The night before, we lost power to almost the entire kitchen and had to close early. I went to bed thinking we’d be back up and running before the International Fair. Because that’s what Kalin, one of my best friend and contractor told me. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Then Kalin arrived around noon, took one look, and let me know this wasn’t getting fixed that same day.

Ok no problem. Let’s keep smiling kids, and let’s figure it out.

With one working outlet, a lot of improvising, and plenty of determination, and a little dancing….we made it through the day serving chai and welcoming guests.

By the end of it all, from 10-6pm….Chelsea, Ella, Max and I were exhausted….but we were still smiling.
