I was 13 when Aashiqui came out in 1990 😳( yeah do the math)

And if you grew up around that time, you know… Aashiqui didn’t just give us songs. It taught an entire generation what we thought love was supposed to feel like.

We didn’t have texts, DMs or “situationships.” 😂
We had songs that made us dream about love before we were even old enough to understand it.

Maybe Bollywood gave us some unrealistic expectations. But it also made love feel magical.

36 years later, Cutting Chai - Your neighborhood Rock Band NJ/NYC sings an Aashiqui song, and for a few minutes, you’re 13 again, believing love could sound exactly like this.

Two weeks ago, I went to a concert I was so excited for… only for it to be canceled.

Tonight, Anand from Cutting Chai - Your neighborhood Rock Band NJ/NYC started singing this song, knowing exactly what it meant to me….and I literally dropped everything in the kitchen and came running out.

Anyway… I think this rendition was better.
Because this one was sung in my home, just for me. ❤️
