Just had to share. If you know, you know. Sometimes the joy isn’t in how big something is, or even how pretty it is. It’s in the process. The working through and tending gingerly to something and nurturing it until it’s ready to serve its purpose. It’s the same way with our purposes in Him. We may feel so small and that what we’re doing is so minuscule, but God uses ALL of it!! The verse that’s gotten me through so much in my life has always been Romans 8:28. “For in all things God works in those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” Regardless of what happens, no matter how small your harvest is, how burdensome your yoke becomes; in the end God will use ALL of that to His glory!!! I could be upset about the time that I spent with this tiny watermelon, I could refuse to enjoy it, I could speak negatively about the whole process and how I wasted my time…. But I won’t, because I know that in all that time and energy and sacrifice that God was nurturing something in me. I had the chance to have quiet time, reflect on what I was doing and the purpose of it, and to enjoy the beauty of the garden around me. I got to show my children how exciting it was to see something grow, I got share in the fruit of my labor with my family even if it’s only 1 little bite. God is in ALL of the details. So here’s to my tiny personal size watermelon even though it literally is smaller than my children’s heads at birth. 🤣
