FRESCO 2022 Bedrock Vineyard Merlot
From one of California’s first regenerative organic certified vineyards, Bedrock Vineyard goes beyond organic—focusing on soil health (no-till, sheep grazing) and fair wages for vineyard workers.
2022 was a hot year, so we picked earlier to keep things fresh and avoid overripeness. The merlot is just 12.7% alcohol which brings out more delicate qualities in the wine, red fruit, and nostalgia for the way California wines used to taste. This wine is so fresh it tastes great slightly chilled if the weather calls for it.
The label is inspired by the etymology of the grape, Merlot, which comes from the French ‘merle,’ meaning blackbird. Since this is a Californian Merlot, we went with the native Red Wing Blackbird on our new release!
