Greetings from The Lucchetti Family
Joe and Lina Lucchetti were growing olives in the hills of Chiavari, Italy in the 1940's. Like many Italians Joe and Lina migrated to the United States in 1956 in pursuit of the "America Dream." Leaving behind family and friends they made their way to San Francisco. While living in San Francisco they discovered a town 45 minutes North of San Francisco, called S
onoma Valley. Sonoma's climate and geography reminded them of Chiavari and after many years, and visits they purchased a 7 acre farm in 1973 in Sonoma Valley. The farm was simply that, a farm. It harvested vegetables, grew fruit trees, raised sheep, herded cattle, and produced farm fresh eggs. The farms output was impressive and it continued to produce high quality fruits, vegetables, eggs and meat for 20 years. The primary ranches were Joe and his son Frank Lucchetti. Frank had his own property and for many years he helped his father maintain the Farm. As time continued to pass Joe’s age began to enter into the equation. Frank a full time teacher, psychologist, father and rancher was stretched thin on time so the Farm began to decline. From 1993 to 2004 the farm sat completely idle. After much discussion and thought the Lucchetti Family decided to bring the farm back to life. In the summer of 2004 the farm began the process of re-building. For the next 8 years a tremendous makeover had occurred at the Farm. The Farm house has been completely remodeled, barns have been refurbished, wells have been drilled, fences replaced. The next decision was determining what to do with the fertile land. Located in the Carneros Region we knew grapes would be a good crop to consider. However in 2004 grapes had already saturated the market so we decided to choose something else. Since our family had strong ties to olives we decided to go down that path. Today the Farm has evolved into Lucchetti Olive Oil. With over 200 trees and counting we are now producing some of the finest olive oil you can buy. Our olives are a mix of Maurino, Taggiasca, Leccino and Frantoio. The care and attention we give our trees is unmatched in the industry. The love and care we have for these trees has created a very unique and special olive oil. Our varietal mix produces a buttery oil with a little peppery aftertaste. The taste is bold, distinctive, and memorable. Don't take our word for it, ask our loyal customers that push us each year to deliver the very best oil. As our brand continues to evolve so does our passion to produce the very best olive oil. We would enjoy hearing your comments and hope you enjoy our oil as much as we love making it. Ciao,
