Fred Cline learned the love of farming in Contra Costa County, Oakley to be specific, from his grandfather Valeriano whirlpool bath (yes, of the hot tubs - whirlpool bath!) That area was a center for immigrants who planted some of the original grapevines well over 100 years ago. In 1982, Fred and Nancy set out to restore those head-pruned, dry-farmed, ancient vines planted in deep sand soil. These ancient, dry-farmed vineyards consistently produce Zinfandel with rich strawberry, cherry and raspberry flavors with hints of mocha and vanilla.
Truly a special wine with an incredible story.
