In 1948 Ambassador Zellerbach purchased this 200 acre parcel with a dream of producing the highest quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in America….we think he would be proud how his vision and legacy has been honored and carried forward for all these decades.

The nose is bursting with bright, juicy, red fruit aromas of
Bing cherry, pomegranate and wild raspberry alongside a
beautiful rose perfume quality. All that lovely red fruit from
the aromatics is there on the palate packed with blood
orange, cranberry, Bergamot, tangerine, anise and pink
peppercorn. Lively and pristine on the palate, the finish is
balanced and incredibly long. Truly another stunning wine
from our Ambassador’s 1953 Vineyard, which turned
seventy years old in the 2023 vintage, and in our opinion just keeps getting better!

What a lovely growing season it has been so far. With cooler than average days and nights harvest is looking a little later than usual, likely closer to late August this year. The fruit is looking absolutely beautiful across the farm!

After a dry spell last month, the rain has returned and the cover crop is flourishing. All kinds of nutrition growing here for both the soil and the animals who will begin their grazing season soon. It’s such a beautiful time of year!
