We had many requests to make more Chicken Tikka Pies, so we have done that.
Thanks for all the positive feedback on our Lemon Barley Water... a healthy, beat-the heat, thirst quenching lemonade that's been featured at Wimbledon Tennis since the 1930's.

A Custard Slice (Vanilla Slice) is always in my first shopping cart when I’m back in England. Very much a personal favorite. This outstanding treat consists of a thick, creamy custard layer set between two sheets of crisp, flaky puff pastry. It is topped with white icing.
We finally found the time to make some and face the “it’s a beast to cut” challenge. We will have these at the market tomorrow (Thursday) and depending on how it goes, they may become a regular.

We have had many requests about our upcoming Easter offerings, and we have made a start with customer favorites; Hot Cross Buns and Simnel Cake.
Made from a rich yeast dough of flour, milk, sugar, butter, eggs, currants, mixed peel and spices, Hot Cross Buns have been a symbol of the season for centuries. Massively popular in the UK, Tesco supermarket alone sells more than 70 million hot cross buns each year.
Simnel Cake is a light, moist, and well-spiced fruity cake featuring a baked-in layer of marzipan, topped with 11 marzipan balls symbolizing the disciples. The balls are toasted with a blow torch which gives the marzipan a lovely flavor for a truly historic Easter treat.

This is our line-up for the market this weekend.
Following some fabulous feedback, we have made more School Dinner Meat Pies. Really like this pie as it reminds me of my old school dinners, and Mrs. Stainthorpe banging on the table with a big spoon trying to get a bit of order.
We dry fry high quality steak mince then pop it in the slow cooker along with finely chopped garlic, carrot, celery and potato, all fried with bacon. The pan is deglazed with red wine and this sizzling mixture is tipped into the slow cooker along with stock and a really good dollop of HP sauce. This pie filling is slow cooked for 6 hours and mature British Cheddar Cheese is stirred in. Then we knock-up some short crust pastry and make some pies.
This week was exceptionally busy at the market. It's a bit frightening as we had many new customers.... so I would like to thank everyone for your kind and generous support.
